A Smile Behind a Mask…

Long ago I left my childhood back,
Did not realize how and when…
All my laughs and smiles were locked in a sack.

Tried hard as I kept going,
With the time to open the bundle of joy…
But so far who has been able to rewind the time?

Missing so much those days,
I decided to wear a smiling mask…
Which did hide my sorrows and pain at last.

It was so easy for me to make others smile,
Forgetting my own pains and sorrows for a while…
Somewhere in their smiles I saw on my face a faded smile.

Now I walk with a mask on my face,
Which is at the mercy of others to give me a smile…
This mask is part of me now as the years pile.
