As The Moon Shines…

My only wish …
When my slumber covers me in the night…
That the moonlight shines,
On my wounded soul and scars…
The smile of the moon,
Falls on my inner darkness…
A moon-blanket that covers,
All night to keep me warm…
A pair of hazel -eyes,
To haunt me all night…
A whisper in my ears…
Of a soul that loves me…
A touch of soft hands,
To comfort me through the night…
A moon-beam passing through my window,
Lighting my lantern to walk me to Heaven…
